The diagnostic applies published IRS collection criteria and the IRS Collection Financial Standards to figures you enter, and shows you the arithmetic. It is software output. It is not tax advice, legal advice, or a recommendation, and no licensed professional has reviewed it. Choosing among collection alternatives, deciding what to offer, and deciding whether to challenge an assessment are judgments only a licensed professional can make for you.

We do not act for you

Nothing is filed with or sent to the IRS from this site. We do not represent you, we hold no power of attorney, and we do not contact the IRS on your behalf. You remain responsible for every deadline and every communication.

Deadlines

Where we show a date, it is a rule applied to a date you typed. The date printed on your IRS notice is the only one that controls. Check ours against it, and act on the notice.

Known limits

Several rule constants behind the calculation are still awaiting confirmation by a licensed tax professional, our published-standards data does not yet cover every county, and the engine lists what it deliberately does not model on every results page. Read that list. It is there because it matters, not as boilerplate.
